Hang a thick band of garland from the exterior side of your banister. Arrange the garland in two or three looping bows; don't intertwine it through the banisters, as this will result in a tangled-looking mess. 2. Tie large, colorful ribbons at the points where the garland meets the banister. Don't overdo it; you only want two to five bows that will serve as accents, as opposed to several bows which will prove overwhelming. 3. If you choose to add lights, lean toward small bulbs that can fit inconspicuously within the garland. For best results, remain consistent: use red lights with red ribbons, blue lights with blue ribbons. That said, green and white tend to work with most any ribbons. 4. Add a thinner, glossy or glittery stream of garland along the exterior of the original piece of garland. Again, this shouldn't be overwhelming; if it's too large, it wont look right. _________________ www.lawrencehousefunds.co.uk |
